Chlorophyll Milk

This beautiful turquoise colored drink gets its natural pastel color from both liquid chlorophyll and pumpkin seeds. Along with hemp seeds and peppermint, this potent combination creates an elixir that's antioxidant rich, nourishing to the blood and deeply soothing for the digestive tract. Enjoy on its own or as a base to your summer smoothies, chia puddings and overnight oats. Benefits increase when adaptogenic herbs are incorporated.

CHLOROPHYLL | is the green pigment that's instrumental in photosynthesis. Once it's absorbed into the bloodstream, it does some heavy lifting to promote cleansing (especially for the liver) by binding to toxic metals and possible carcinogens. Its properties are similar to that of chlorella and spirulina, both of which contain chlorophyll and can be used as a replacement in this tonic if the liquid variation is not available to you.

PUMPKIN SEEDS | contain heart-healthy magnesium, zinc for immune support and plant-based omega-3 fats. Studies suggest that pumpkin seeds may improve insulin regulation and help prevent diabetic complications by decreasing oxidative stress, not to mention their anti-inflammatory effects.

HEMP SEEDS | are a great source of plant-based fats, containing two essential fatty acids: linoleic acid (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3). It has been suggested that the gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) in hemp seeds may help to regulate the hormone imbalances and inflammation associated with both PMS and menopause. They are a great source of protein and can be digested more easily by the body as compared to grains, nuts and legumes. Other essential nutrients: Vitamin E (for skin health), magnesium, iron and zinc.

PEPPERMINT | has a cooling and calming effect on the body and is very soothing to the digestive tract, helping to ease nausea and an aching stomach. It may also help to reduce food cravings and bloating, so it's great to include during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, just before menstruation. It may support hormonal balance and can be therapeutic for women suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
